Frequently Asked Questions About Renting a Home

Where Do I Start? How Do I Find Homes for rent / apartments for rent?
You can view all our available listings by selecting which metro area you are interested in: Oklahoma City metro or Tulsa metro. You can also get set up on a search based off your specific criteria. Once you have selected a property, contact one of our Homeworx Property management Realtors to schedule a showing!
Things to Consider when comparing houses for rent.
  • Location
How do I determine the best areas to search for rental homes?
Consider your commute to work, proximity to shopping, dining, attractions, and ease of access to turnpikes. It is helpful to drive around and visit the areas so you know what will best meet your needs. If you would like to stay in your current area, try searching houses for rent near me.
  • School System
What school districts are associated with this home?
Before you rent a house, make sure you are getting your child in the education system of your choice. It’s important to do your research! You can view online public school ratings, teacher to student ratios, etc online. greatschools.org and schooldigger.com offer information on the various public school districts. If there is a particular school system you desire, you can filter our listings by school district. There are also many private school options available in the areas we serve.
  • Amenities
What amenities are important to you and your family?
Amenities in rental homes vary across neighborhoods. Be mindful of and relay those to your Realtor so he or she can match you with homes for rent / homes for sale and neighborhoods that offer those amenities. A few examples of such amenities are storm shelters, appliances, and neighborhood amenities such as pool, playground, gym, or clubhouse.
What Should I Ask My Realtor before I rent a house?
  • What appliances are included?
Some rental homes offer full appliances. If you need a home that includes a refrigerator, built-in microwave, washer or dryer, please let your Realtor know so you can narrow down your search to homes that offer what you need. For appliances that you will be bringing into the home, ask your Realtor about available space to accommodate the appliance to ensure the size fits. Also, verify if you need electric or gas hookups.
  • What is your pet policy?
We have a multitude of homes for rent / apartments for rent that are pet friendly. Check with your Realtor to determine the pet policy for the home you are interested in. Homeworx Property Management requires a non-refundable pet fee for our pet friendly homes, and a Pet Addendum must be signed.
  • What utilities if any are included with the home for rent?
Tenants are responsible for maintaining utilities in rental homes unless otherwise stated in your lease. Be sure to ask your Homeworx Property Management Realtor which utility companies you will need to contact. You should also find out if the home and its appliances use gas, electric or both.
